- Cathode-Fed TV: Near the picture tube socket, strip a half inch of insulation off the
cathode lead. To the stripped cathode lead, solder the yellow lead (Item H) from the
kit.
Grid-Fed TV: Near the picture tube socket, strip a half inch of insulation off the
grid lead. To the stripped grid lead, solder the yellow lead (Item H) from the kit.
- Tape your connection.
- Cathode-Fed TV: About two inches from the picture tube socket, cut the grid lead.
Grid-Fed TV: About two inches from the picture tube socket, cut the cathode lead.
- Strip the picture tube leads that you just cut.
- Solder the 47K, ½-watt resistor (Item F) between the cut picture tube leads. The
resistor should now be in series with the picture tube leads.
- Solder the green lead (Item H) to the end of the resistor nearest the picture tube.
- To prevent a short, tape your connections.
- The kit includes three resistors and a capacitor that we've soldered together (Item E).
There are two 270K, 2-watt resistors and one 10K, ½-watt resistor. A 0.01μF capacitor
connects to one of the 270K resistors. Note that the 0.01 μF capacitor has one free end.
Solder this end to the plate connection on the receiver horizontal output tube.
- Item E: Connect the free end of the 10K, ½-watt resistor to circuit ground (usually chassis).
- Item E: Note the junction of the 270K and 10K resistors. At this junction, solder the orange lead of the cable (Item D).
